Alberta Culture Days

Alberta Culture Days

Alberta Culture Days occurs September 26-28.

Alberta Culture Days began in 2008 as Alberta Arts Day, a one-day event to recognize the value of Alberta’s arts and cultural communities. There were 100 events held in 30 communities across the province, and a flagship celebration at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. Since then, it has expanded into a vibrant, three-day, provincewide celebration that has helped inspire the creation of Culture Days - a pan-Canadian movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.

In 2013, thousands of Albertans discovered, experienced and celebrated our arts, heritage, cultural diversity and provincial pride with over 1,450 events in communities across the province. Alberta Culture Days 2014, September 26 to 28, will continue to showcase the province’s arts, multicultural, heritage and nonprofit/voluntary organizations; creative industries and individual artists, while encouraging all Albertans to discover the important contributions of culture to a prosperous, vibrant society.

Alberta Culture Days is helping to achieve the goals of our province’s cultural policy, The Spirit of Alberta.
