The 27th Annual Chili Cook-Off

4th Street Road Closure

On November 3rd, the City of Edmonton will be hosting the 27th Annual Chili Cook-Off on 104th Street as the official kick-off to Western Week in Edmonton. The event will include a road closure that begins at Michael Phair Park, just north of Jasper Ave, and extends to 102nd Avenue. The event runs from 11AM until 1:30PM on November 3rd, however, the road closure will be in place starting November 2nd, at 1PM to allow for set up of the event infrastructure on the roadway. Post-event, the road will re-open at 7PM on November 3rd.

Normally when we host the event on Churchill Square, we expect to have ~17 chili vendors and 6,000 – 8,000 attendees over the two hours. This will be our first year on 104th street but we are preparing for a similar turnout.

We understand and appreciate that traffic will be affected because of the road closure and are working closely with the 104th Street Steering Committee to ensure that impacts are minimized. In order to facilitate access to the two parking lots attached to 104th Street, vehicle traffic can access they alley on the east side of 104th. Additionally, alleyway access west of 104th will not be affected.
